Fuck Yeah Agorism

Fuck Yeah Agorism

by Lily Forester

It’s not enough to read Konkin and share agorist memes.  To truly be an agorist, one must support the agorist market.

What do I mean by this? –

Basically, if you’re looking at spending your money, first look for an agorist to give it to.  It doesn’t even have to be someone out there who understands the term – it’s more about living it than anything.

A while back, I wrote an article for Agorist Nexus titled “You might be an agorist if…”.  I bring it up now as a reference because the list of the points I make in that post are useful for identifying the agorists you want to support.

To elaborate, an agorist is an individual who aligns with some or all of the following traits:

…someone who can’t learn a new skill without trying to make money on it.

…someone who has many income streams.

…someone who gets paid in cash.

…someone who has many skills and is highly adaptable.

…people who love markets above all other places when they visit new places.

…anyone who avoids paying taxes.

…anyone willing to break the law to participate in illegal but nonviolent markets.

…anyone who gets paid in cryptocurrency

…those who live off their skills.

…those who own more tools than any other type of possession.

…people who make friends with those they do business with

Chances are, you have some people in mind, but if you don’t, here are some examples. I’ll start with vague, real world examples and end this with some of my favorite online agorist places you can support.

Local:

Farmers’ Markets: Generally, Farmers’ Markets are still pretty regulated, but you can occasionally buy raw milk and other restricted farm items there.  You can also make off-site deals with farmers that you connect with to partake in further illicit deals, such as in buying raw milk in areas it is deemed “illegal”.

Flea Markets:  Going on flea market adventures as a kid made me the agorist I am, all joking aside.  My mom sold her plants there when I was growing up, and as an adult, I sold bootlegged movies to survive. I’ve spent so many hours wandering around these places, haggling and trading with vendors to acquire new things.  This is a great way to find all sorts of items, from dogs to antiques, all in the same small area.

Local Crafter: Do you have a friend trying to sell art or handmade wares online? Consider supporting them.  These people are an excellent source of gifts and a lot of the time will do custom orders upon request.  Make your gifts more special and support agorist crafters!

In-Home Restaurants or Food Businesses:  That Keto girl making keto goods in her kitchen that she sells on Facebook? Support her!! That woman running a simple business out of her house (something more common here in Mexico)? Help her make it work.  Often, you find extra special food surprises when you take a chance on these entrepreneurs. After all, this is actually how I survived at first in Acapulco!

Now, we move to the more specific online recommendations.

Agorist Nexus: This one is obvious, but worth mentioning, as a lot of the people that read the articles don’t realize there is also a podcast.  And even more don’t realize the site itself is a modern day hub of agorism, supporting and connecting a network of agorist businesses for you to support.  If you’re looking for something but don’t know where to find it, first check the Agorist Nexus website! https://www.agoristnexus.com/

Agorist Hosting: This is the same hosting The Homestead Guru uses to host its website.  You can pay in BTC and get personalized support. Here’s the website: https://agoristhosting.com/

The Homestead Guru:  The Homestead Guru was actually recently featured on the podcast and has been writing about homesteading-related topics for five years now. I’ve personally been contributing to their blog for 4 of them!  Recently, we’ve expanded to including e-books and a detox course for cryptocurrency.  In the near future, we will offer consulting on topics like living off cryptocurrency, unschooling, and agorism.  Here’s a link if you’d like to check out the site: https://thehomestead.guru/

Renegade University: This is the brain child of my close friend, Thaddeus Russell, someone who has a huge love for everything agorism stands for.  Thad wrote A Renegade History of the United States and the way he’s put it to me repeatedly is that his books are about agorists.  Now, he seeks to help educate the current and future generations of agorists with his alternative to higher education that is Renegade University. We are in talks about having me do a course on agorism for that, so stay tuned!!!  Here’s the link to the RU website: https://renegadeuniversity.com/

Highly Functional Growth:  This is my personal blog, but worth mentioning because I share a personal take on what it’s actually like to live the life of an agorist.  I hope to expand the website and include experiences and advice of other agorists, as they find time to contribute. I also intend for it to be a sort of portal between the autism community and agorism, as I find agorism to be the best solution for my specific lifestyle needs as an autistic woman. Here’s the link to my website: https://highlyfunctionalgrowth.com/

A Beautiful Thought Project:  This is best put as the masterpiece project of my friend Kurt David Robinson, who is, to me, a sort of digital agorist.  This project’s intended aim is to help the world become happier with what they have…and I would say, at episode 77, the content is pretty profound.  Beyond that, he currently offers Cognitive Behavioral Therapy sessions on his website for only 6 dollars a session. From what he tells me, you should only need the one session!  Here’s the link to the website for both the CBT sessions and the free podcast: https://beautifulpodcast.com/

Ree’s Agora: This is a Facebook friend, who has promoted agorism by taking a dive in with her witchcraft business.  She sells high quality herbal smudges, little spell jars, and more.  She’s even got on the bandwagon of accepting cryptocurrency.  I haven’t received what I ordered yet (only because it has to be smuggled by a friend), but I already know it’s going to be a very special experience based on reviews from previous customers. Here’s the link to her Facebook page if you’d like to check out her store: https://www.facebook.com/Rees-Agora-106276371219155

Harley Sweat: This girl is another Facebook friend.  She’s a maker of all sorts of things, from light up dick lamps, to ash trays, to journals.  I’m not really sure how in the hell she makes all that she does, but I do know she uses a lot of resin.  This is an example of an online crafts hustler that you can go and support now who is agorism-minded: https://www.etsy.com/shop/RebelScumHandmade?ref=search_shop_redirect&fbclid=IwAR2SVz06xOiGlJ5IfodMm3-BLfaylCE4s0gPVS0dUo7f0St_QnnY25UP7sM

Amanda Rose (Rachwitz):  Many know her as the dragon lady, some know her as the tarantula lady, and a lot know her as the wife of Larken Rose.  She’s been an an agorist for years, capitalizing on things like her love of cleaning as a cleaning lady and a Lyft driver. Recently, she’s gotten a bit more natural with it making cannabis-infused pain salve that I have heard ALL sorts of good things about.  (Link to Facebook to contact for the weed salve. She ships: https://www.facebook.com/mandyrose.13)

And there you have it!  If you have a need, there’s a good chance you can find an agorist to fill it, if you know where and how to look.  If someone accepts cryptocurrency, use your fiat to buy crypto to further encourage the counter-economy instead of using fiat directly when you can. The world is only going to change if we make it; start voting with your dollars in the agora today!
